Designing New Year Performance Costumes Keeps Reza Busy

It is always a busy time for REZA Shariffi during the month of December. When all his friends and family prepare to celebrate arrival of a new year, Reza is generally neck deep in work designing performance and party costumes for his clients.

Reza has worked on numerous films like Rajjo, Tanu weds Manu, Devdas, Kya Kool Hai Hum and others. He even bagged the National Award for Madhuri Dixit‘s outfits in  Devdas. He recently made spectacular costumes for Kareena Kapoor Khan for her performance at Big Star Entertainment Awards.

“It has been years since I have gone out celebrating arrival of a new year. I prefer meeting friends over a quiet dinner indoors than going out on the streets or a big bash. Till the 30th of every December, I am always organizing trials and deliveries. By the end of it all I hardly have energy to party,” smiles Reza rushing to his workshop.

If there are individual clients who make their party wear especially for this occasion year on year. There is a small army of celebrities who are rehearsing for their performances at various venues across the globe. Obviously they need to be sure of what they are wearing, and that is where Reza comes into the picture.

“I have designed for all my clients at least more than twice, so I know their individual taste and preferences, their comfort zones and dislikes.”

Integrating this knowledge with his creativity each time they perform in a Reza outfit makes it a memorable event not only for the audience but performing celebrity too.

This year he has created stunning outfits for celebrities like Maryam Zakaria, Mouni Roy, Krusna and Kashmira, Sanjeeda, Monica Bedi, Sana Khan, Hussain and wife Tina and others.
