Heart beats fasters with Radio Mirchi at Airtel Delhi Half Marathon
Airtel Delhi Half Marathon was a mirchilicious day as Delhities were running here for a noble cause. Encouraging healthy habits and active lifestyle, Radio Mirchi, India’s leading radio station captured the mood of dilliwalas and engaged its listeners at the event. RJ Anant, RJ Saurabh and RJ Sukriti added flair to the marathon.
More than 30,000 participants turned up early Sunday morning for the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2013. The participants included athletes, corporate honchos and Bollywood glitteratis too – Anil Ambani and Rahul Bose also ran in Delhi this year. Bipasha Basu and Milkha Singh were seen cheering the runners. The event kicked off at7:20 AM in the morning in Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium with the senior citizen run, followed by the half marathon run and the wheelchair event.
The Mirchi music taxi hosted live by RJ Anant and RJ Saurabh, where RJ Sukriti cheered up the crowd with performances like DJ with percussionists, Oorja Dance Troop, etc. RJ Rohit was making announcements and cheering people at the startline. Spectators had gala time as they were seen dancing to the tunes played at the ‘Cheer Zone’ and enjoying themselves to the fullest.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Vivek Modi, Vice President and Cluster Head North says, “Mirchi Cheering zone was the first cheering zone outside the stadium, all runners coming out of the stadium crossed this zone. The occasions like this give us an opportunity to interact with the Radio Station’s fans on a live stage.”
The station spiced up the event by creating a vivacious “Mirchi Cheer Zone” much to the thrill of the participants and spectators. With the theme of ‘Heart beats faster with Radio Mirchi’, the audience enjoyed the added excitement as RJ’s made the event a memorable day for everyone in the audience. RJ Anant, Suarbah and Sukriti helmed the event on the stage and the arena reverberated with fun, laughter along with superhit songs.
Celebrities like Bipasha Basu, Mahima Chaudhary, Rahul Bose and athlete Milkha Singh also visited the live radio station at the venue and made it a fun-filled affair. “Fitness is not all about being slim, but it’s about and building inner strength also”, said Bipasha Basu. Mahima Choudhary and Gulshan Grover also encouraged the runners at Marathon. “It was a wonderful experience being at the marathon and I would have missed something big if I wasn’t here”, said Milkha Singh.
