Women entrepreneurs, reshaping business in India and international markets

If we gauge the current scenario, the pursuit of being a women entrepreneur is escalating but the definite direction and platform to be successful still remains a query. Considering the situation,WEConnect International gives women the chance to explore ample economic opportunities by giving them a platform to scale heights through its corporate global network.

WEConnect International a non-profit organization is organizing Women in Business Forum in Bangalore on 19 November 2013.The Forum aims to empower women as the Third Billion. According to a study done by Booz and Company in 2010, this emerging group of women will be as significant as that of the billion-plus populations in both China and India. It is estimated that approximately 870 million women will enter the economic mainstream, with the number passing 1 billion during the following decade  – making this the next powerful  ‘Third Billion’ in the global marketplace. The forum is aimed to capture the potential economic and social impact of the Third Billion when they Think Big! It aims to curb all the hurdles that women face in their respective business segments.
Considering the huge economic and social impact of women in the community and economy, it is imperative that we need to create an ecosystem that enables their full contribution, with the involvement of the government, industry and women themselves playing an active part. “The fact that we have 600 women entrepreneurs in our network in less than 2 years is ample proof of the huge potential that women entrepreneurs have to transform our economy and our Society,” says Sucharita Eashwar, Execuitve Director, WEConnect International India.
Women entrepreneurs here will get a chance to connect with leaders from government, industry and other self –made entrepreneurs. Apart from skill building and professional development workshops, highlight of the event will be an opportunity to interact with procurement teams from WEConnect Corporate members and get an insight on how to become a vendor to fortune 500 companies.

Think Big! DreamScaping workshop will enable participants to articulate their dreams or ideas into vivid detail using a creative scenario-building tool and methodology where they can create a roadmap to convert those dreams into reality.

This Forum will witness the launch of the first-ever study in India ‘Roadmap 2020 and Beyond’, initiated by WEConnect International with Quantum Leaps – a Washington based Think Tank and research partner Athena Infonomics – a policy research and advisory firm. The study focuses on mapping the current ecosystem, challenges and opportunities for women entrepreneurs in India.

The WEConnect Think Big! Forum will provide networking and peer learning platform for all the participants. Learning and skill-building for women entrepreneurs, with a special focus on doing business with large corporations and developing new markets in other countries will be the main objective of WEConnect. Women business owners inIndia and MNC Corporations, senior government representatives, Investors and Researchers would be the main attendees particpating in the forum. WEConnect International‘s roadmap endeavors to build a robust ecosystem that will realise the full potential of women entrepreneurship in India.
