Hospicon 2014 – National Conference on Raising Healthcare to New Heights

The city witnessed today inauguration of Hospicon 2014 by Sancheti Healthcare Academy.  The National Conference is based on the theme – Raising Healthcare to New Heights. Ms. Kanchan Naikawadi, Director Indus Health Plus, Mr. Amol Naikawadi, Joint MD Indus Health Plus were present at the conference as ‘Guest of Honor’ and inaugurated the 2 day long conference.

The conference is specially designed for medical students to understand the current happenings in healthcare sector. The conference highlighted the challenges and issues faced by healthcare industry and measures to adapt to new healthcare practices. During the conference the key stakeholders shared their experiences and discussed strategies on how to raise the present healthcare standards and shape the future of Indian healthcare. They also informed about the healthcare developments of India and shared knowledge on best healthcare opportunities of today.

Mr. Amol Naikawadi, Director Indus Health Plus said, “The healthcare sector is moving from its traditional practice and is growing at a faster pace. Modern technologies are getting introduced in Indian Healthcare to make it better and patient friendly. India is becoming the capital of non-communicable diseases therefore the Indian healthcare sector has to spread its wings from curative measures to preventive measures. The corporate sector will play a critical role in driving growth in the preventive healthcare market.”

In the conference, topics which were discussed and highlighted the most were quality control in healthcare industry, health insurance, health research, business model and IT playing a major role in providing better and quick results in the industry.

Mr. Harish Pillai, CEO Indus Health Plus participated as one of the member for panel discussion  on career opportunities in healthcare sector along with Dr. Sonali Kulkarni from Chellaram Diabetic Institute, Dr. Varsha Wadhavkar Director Pawana Hospital, Col. S. Shaligram from Oyster and Pearl Hospital and Mr. Saurabh Bhaumik.

Mr. Harish Pillai said, “There are clear indications that healthcare industry is going to be a major sector that stimulates economic growth and contribute to employment. The numbers of diseases and patients cases are increasing and therefore there is an urgent need of manpower and hospitals in tier II and tier III cities to solve this problem.
